Effective orthotics are custom-made from a mold of your feet, and prescribed just for you. Orthotics are prescribed to treat a variety of conditions, and can help alleviate symptoms of:

  • Heel pain
  • Arch pain
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Back pain
  • Knee pain
  • Hip pain
  • Neuromas
  • Shin splints
  • Metatarsalgia
  • Bunions
  • Tired achy feet
  • Arthritic conditions
  • Flat feet
  • High arches

Who Should Prescribe Orthotics?

When it comes to the health of your feet, you are in-charge. Most companies require orthotics to be prescribed by a Podiatrist. Make sure you consult a doctor medically trained in Biomechanics and Orthotic Therapy, such as a Podiatrist.

How Do Orthotics Work?

Custom-made orthotics are designed to correct a biomechanical imbalance; for instance, pronation or supination. They do this by consistently supporting your foot in the correct position. They can also be used to halt the worsening of existing foot problems, relieving you from pain and allowing the healing process to begin.

Casting Technique

Ensure that a non-weight-bearing cast or mold is taken. When the cast is being taken, you shouldn’t have your foot on the floor, neither standing nor sitting. Research has shown that a non-weight-bearing neutral position casting is the most effective mold to use for making orthotics.
